I have some unboxing photos ready for you in the next post but first I wanted to report that I’ve successfully changed the language from Dutch to English. There’s also an English manual included so if you really can’t wait for the Omnia Pro in your country and you’re happy with QWERTY and English language, buy one from Holland!
Update: Other languages available through TouchWiz. (They take about 10 minutes to install)
English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Norwegian, Dutch, Czech, Greek, Spanish, Portugese, Finnish, Danish, Polish, Swedish. Lots of options there, just don’t let your mate get hold of your Omnia Pro and switch it to Greek

I saw there was Polish on hdblog.it as well, could you confirm that? ‘Cos waiting here for the next month’s or two will drive me crazy so I’m considering ordering it from Holland. BTW did you pay any extra money for shipment?

Ha Chippy, I beat you! I have the OmniaPro since last saterday (yes I live in Holland). Great device, I’m still learning about all the things it can do.

Have you encountered any lagginess in operating it?
Are you satisfied with its responsiveness?
#4 by Harmens on September 16th, 2009
Laginess: only on the Widget screen. The more widgets you use, the slower it gets. But the rest of the UI is quite responsive. Unfortenately, I am not so happy with Opera Mobile 9.5 (build 17288). It is not so good as I hoped for.

Uf, you’ve taken a burden from me! Thanks! I want this piece of tech, but I was afraid of the similarities with the Omnia II, it moves like a snail, you know…

Is the language change something new in TouchWiz ?
Are there other languages supported ?
I am expecting mine in Germany, but would like to change the language to English. Don’t know if language support will be available on all devices in all countries or is this something specific for NL ?

See update on post. Many languages supported.

tnx Chippy !
that’s a good news with the languages, finally you don’t need to flash a ROM just to change it !
Please test HSDPA / HSUPA as soon as you can, I think is one thing everybody is still awaiting for confirmation….
Great work, cheers man …

All the info i’ve seen, and the fact that it’s highlighted as HSDPA on the phone means that it’s likely to be ‘only’ 3.6mbps down and 356 up.

I haven’t done any side-by-side testing with other smartphones yet and you need to know that I haven’t been deeply involved with smartphones for a while (I was running an N82) so I’ve got a little bit of catching up to do!

Hi people! I have received my PRO yesterday from Germany and I cannot change the language to English. I can’t see any language settings and I don’t speak German either. I am so upset.
Can anyone please help?
