There’s a lot to talk about and a lot of testing to do. Here are some of the posts i’m planning to complete very soon.
- Overview of the Omnia Pro range. Note the OmniaPRO B7330 and B7320 news from yesterday… “Within the OmniaPRO lineup, the OmniaPRO B7610 is the premium device”
- First impressions
- A video overview of the user interface
- A video overview of web browsing using Opera 9.5
- A post about the keyboard, both hard and software-based.
- A post about the media player experience including video performance testing and the connected home feature.
- Full review.
If you have any other burning desires, let me know in the comments.
One week away from the desk…
But first, I have an important job to do. Next week I’ll be heavily involved with the Intel Developer Forum as a reporter and event host through my MIDMoves project and the Intel Insider program. We’ve got some mobility events planned, product previews and hands-on and we’ll be getting details about Intel’s smartphone-capable platform, Moorestown. My focus will be away from this blog for a week so things will be quiet here. Of course i’ll be giving the Omnia Pro a big workout while I’m there and it will probably be my main twitter device when I’m in a Wifi area (I don’t have a local data SIM card.) I’ll be using Twikini and the built-in camera a lot so dont’ forget to follow me on twitter as @chippy. While I’m away though, feel free to chat in the forum. I’ll try and drop in to answer questions when I get the time.
Guest posts?
If you’ve got an Omnia Pro (any version) though and want to do a guest post either next week or at any time in the future, i’ll be more than happy to check it out and post it here for others to read. Getting alternative views from a range of users is key to making one’s own decision. If you have something you want to post, send it to user-post @ [thisblogsdomainname]
Thanks.
Thanks for all your participation, tips and feedback so far. The blog has grown amazingly fast this week and Google now have it on page 1 of search results for ‘Omnia Pro.’ We’re getting a couple of thousand page views per day now and I expect that to grow as the Omnia Pro feeds into other geographical areas and people become aware of it as a high-end smartphone choice. That simply means more interactivity, thoughts, tips and great discussions here on My Omnia Pro.

Hi Chippy,
I was wondering if you could do an small video or just a couple of screens captures of the device using Remote Desktop.
I’ve the intention to use the OmniaPro B7610, since it has a WVGA screen, as a netbook replacement.
I need to be able to check, using Remote Desktop, the status of different apps in that I’ve running on a couple servers.
I don’t think this device could be ideal to solve an issue -due some keyboard and mouse limitations-, but sure it can work for scrolling down windows and see logs.
Thanks,
Juan.-

I’ll have to d/l the app as it’s not on the device but yes, that’s a good one. I’ll be using it too.

It’s difficult to tell at the moment as i’m testing everything pretty hard. At least one charge per day at the moment.
More news on battery life when I settle down with the device.

At the moment amongst all the regional websites only the website from INdia seems to be having the “B7610″ as an upcoming phone;
http://in.samsungmobile.com/mobile-phones/phone-search.do?kind=upcoming
any other official samsung sites showing it as “Upcoming” ?
