…making it one of the best value high-end smartphones on the European market right now. 5mp, HSDPA, keyboard, AMOLED WVGA screen and an 800Mhz CPU for under 400 Euro is great value.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 is hovering around the 500 Euro mark.
The Xperia X2 is showing for 509 Euro in Germany right now.
The B7610 is currently available for 398 Euros.
[Prices at Geizhals.at]
Surprisingly it’s Amazon.de that are showing the lowest price but this could be a pre-order promotion as the device is still not available through them. The WM6.5 version is expected in Holland in the next few weeks so we’re hopeful that the WM6.5 version hits Germany, UK and other European countries at the same time.

It seems most retailers are saying that the OPro will be out by the end of this week. I’ll be ordering mine on the very day it comes out. I feel very sorry for those who ordered off Play.com because, originally, they said the release date was in October and then kept pushing it back and back (it says 30th Nov now!). I sure am glad I didn’t pre-order it!

Gummobile.com are now estimating a release date of 12th November. It’s not on their website, but if you look at a listing they made on eBay for the B7610 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Samsung-B7610-Omnia-Pro-Phone-*Brand-New*-*Unlocked*-UK_W0QQitemZ230393648573QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=b88f09811220a0e202a56cf5ff9b3f79), it now says “In Stock 12th November 2009, all orders will be dispatched that day” where previously it said it would become available on the 9th.
To be honest, this waiting doesn’t bother me in the least. I’d much rather Samsung released a device with stable firmware, a little later than planned, than ‘doing a Nokia’ and releasing a device months before a stable firmware is released (I’m referring to the N97, which I was considering to buy until I found out about their terrible firmware and update support). Some moan about the waiting, but more would moan about poor firmware. After all; good things come to those who wait… for a stable firmware.
If the firmware is poor? Let’s not think about that. Positive thoughts!

http://www.mobiles.co.uk/o2-samsung-omnia-pro.html is this true do you think

I hope not. The replacement is not exactly a ‘replacement’ for many people. Maybe there’s some confusion and there really is an updated model coming.
It can’t be the 7320 though. Surely.

Ha… Turns out the general consensus of the online retailers has pushed the OPro back another week. Most retailers saying 19th. Clove says “week commencing 23rd”. Looks like we’ll all have to wait a little longer!
On the plus side, at least all the retailers are giving identical or similar shipping dates which would suggest that they are in good communication with Samsung. Or maybe they’ll all copying each other?

This is really depressing. I’ve been waiting for this phone since September. Waiting waiting waiting waiting.
Every “release date” given by the online retailers comes and goes. This phone is sorta like catching the wind, no matter how hard you try, it always eludes you.
Here’s hoping all us patient warriors shall be rewarded by this month.

On the British version of the Expansys website, it says something different, so those of us in the UK; I wouldn’t worry yet.

Things are getting very strange about the Omnia Pro as far as the online retailers are concerned. Expansys claim to have stock now, which is good if you want to fork out £90 more than most other retailers. Clove are saying they’ll have stock “week commencing 23rd Nov” (pressumably Nov 2020).
The weirdest thing I have found though was on LambdaTek. They say they’ll have stock at the very end of December now, which looked rather bleak… until I found this…
http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?origin=gbase16.5&prodID=1864218
Now I’m just plain confused. They list that for release on the 25th, which goes along with what Clove are saying…
Should we rename this website “My Omnia Pro Lourve”?
(sorry for the huuuge comments by the way… I hope they help!)

I got tired of the delays in the uk, had one on pre-order from play since september, so i canceled the order and ordered it from Holland @
4launch.nl.
just under £380, shipped in 4 days
first impressions : I like it a lot more than my i900
#16 by Criss on November 18th, 2009
Seriously…is this phone coming to the UK or what. I desperately need a phone now. This phone has nearly everything I need…the only problem is this phone almost seems like vaporware.
I pre-ordered from gummobile.com.uk though.
Sigh maybe I should do like jimsey and order from Holland.
A question for you jimsey – What about the warranty? What would you do if something were to happen to the phone?
#17 by Criss on November 18th, 2009
Lol, you try chasing a rabbit you can never catch.
I guess I admire and pity you in equal amounts because you have never known the meaning of futileness.
#18 by jimsey on November 19th, 2009
the 2 year samsung warranty is still valid even though bought in holland, all samsung require is proof of purchase.
most uk phone shops now state end of nov release, but they’ve been promising a release for 6 weeks so i wouldn’t hold my breath.
takes 4 days to get to uk from holland, and 10 mins to change language.
only drawback was 2 pin plug on charger, but i have EU adapters and a 3 pin charger is only £6 on ebay.
had it 2 days now and think it’s great.
#19 by Criss on November 20th, 2009
Hey, I’ll be doing the same as you for I simply cannot wait any longer.
Can you tell me how you ordered? They keep telling me that the mobile number I entered is invalid.
#20 by Criss on November 20th, 2009
Actually, can you give me a step by step process on how to get the whole thing done without a hitch?
I could give you my email if you want. Or you could post it in the forum for the benefit of everyone. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Do help a fellow Omnia pro-waitee out.
