GSM Arena Reviews WM6.5 Omnia Pro.

gsmarena_002GSM Arena have just published a full review of the B7610 praising the TouchWiz UI, Samsung software, keyboard and commenting on differences between it and the HTC Touch Pro2, Xperia X2 and N97. They review a version that they upgraded to Windows Phone OS but it’s not quite clear how they got theirs upgraded. Was it an official Samsung upgrade (that we haven’t seen yet) or a cooked ROM?

Overall, GSMArena seem very happy with the Omnia Pro.

…the TouchWiz and WinMo combo performs excellently and for a business people with gadgety inclinations will love the keyboard, the smooth syncing and the excellent Office support.

One thing I have to agree with as it annoys me more and more is the time taken to get to the task switcher. 2-seconds is a lifetime when all you want to do is switch to another app.

The one gripe we have with the Task switcher is that the long press required to start it is way too long.

Read the full review here and don’t miss the photo samples along with comment and a sample of D1 (720×480) resolution video recording.

Thanks Jacob.

    Hi Chippy

    As far as i am concerned the only thing that bothers me is “Lack of full Flash Support” on B7610 as per the GSMARENA review; Do you think its a software issue ? or a hardware issue ? Can a change in Browser or firmware upgrade help the cause ?

    I rem you addressing this aspect in the earlier reviews; that the processor is not capable enuff of handling flash pages as they seem to die or time-out;

    Surprisingly the Omnia2 i8000 which has the same processor has full flash enabled browser ?

      Flash lite is included which gives you partial flash application capability. Flash 10.1 is due in Q1 2010 but I really don’t expect the OP to get a version of that.

      I doubt the Omnia2 has full flash. There are very few ARM-based devices out that have it and no smartphones I know of apart from the Nokia N900.

    GSM arena are verry happy with this Samsung Omnia Pro but I think I would rather opt for the HTC HD2 which to me does a slightly better job running on the same operating system. When I would want to have Android I would go for the Spica.
