B7610 Drops Below 400 Euro
Posted by chippy in Availability, price on November 8th, 2009
…making it one of the best value high-end smartphones on the European market right now. 5mp, HSDPA, keyboard, AMOLED WVGA screen and an 800Mhz CPU for under 400 Euro is great value.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 is hovering around the 500 Euro mark.
The Xperia X2 is showing for 509 Euro in Germany right now.
The B7610 is currently available for 398 Euros.

Surprisingly it’s Amazon.de that are showing the lowest price but this could be a pre-order promotion as the device is still not available through them. The WM6.5 version is expected in Holland in the next few weeks so we’re hopeful that the WM6.5 version hits Germany, UK and other European countries at the same time.

Omnia Pro B7610 Next Week?
Posted by chippy in Availability, price on August 30th, 2009
Once again, and in some way connected to the huge price of the Nokia N900, I’ve had a a scan around for latest information on the Omnia Pro B7610. It’s looking like my neighbors in Holland are going to get the first pop and all indicators are pointing to next week for the first shipments. I’ve seen the 2nd and the 4th quoted as dates. PDASHop.nl have the device listed for a 4th Sept shipment.
As for Germany, PDAMax has switched to a 7-14days tag on their products page and the Geizhals.at German search page is starting to update more regularly as resellers fine tune their prices.
With prices down to just over 400 Euro now (from an original 460 Euro price-point) it’s undercutting the N900 by nearly 200 Euros and the HTC Pro2 by 100 Euros. There’s no arguing that the Omnia B7610 Pro is still one of the best value high-end smartphone choices.
Omnia Pro Availability and RRP Update.
According to Samsung Belgium (via Unwired View,) the Omnia Pro will be available in Belgium in July at an RRP of 499 Euro.
Of course in Germany it’s been available at under 480 Euros for a few weeks now. When I ordered mine it was 462 Euros. Since then, it’s up to 477 Euros at Amazon Germany. SInce ordering though, a couple more online retailers in Germany have put it on their books. Cyberport, a big online retailer that I’ve used many times before, has it up for 450 Euros. [Via Geizhals price comparison.] I still haven’t seen any availability info for the UK or US.
Unwired View reminds us that the early Omnia’s will ship with Windows Mobile 6.1. There’s no word about when the 6.5 update will come but I wouldn’t expect anything before November.
A July delivery would be nice but I’m not holding my breath!
Where can you buy the Omnia Pro?
Posted by chippy in Availability, price on July 1st, 2009
I must admit I was surprised to see the Omnia Pro in the German Amazon website last Sunday. Since then I can’t find it anywhere other than in Germany. I’ve scoured the UK websites, had a search around Italy and Holland via Google, Amazon USA, Pircegrabber and other common sites. Google searches yield nothing. I can’t even find news relating to it being available in Germany yet!
If anyone has info from their own country I’ll be happy to update the info on this post. Naturally, if I find anything, I’ll also add it to this post. Stay tuned.
